Spring Out your Vehicle Spring is really here! Warm temperatures and the bluest of blue skies somehow make me feel like driving. I look for any excuse to hop in one of my Chevrolets, and head out on the open road. I don't need any particular destination. I just enjoy driving in this fine weather. Spring break leads to summer vacations and that means being sure your vehicle is up to the task. With fuel prices so high, be sure to get your vehicle serviced for maximum fuel economy. Don't overlook some of the other systems that may be subject to neglect. Hot weather is actually harder on your battery than the cold of winter. Get it checked so you won't be stranded. Open the owner's manual and see when you are due for
a cooling system service. It's no fun being on the side of the road with
overheating. Did I mention that overheating an engine can damage it beyond
repair? Also get your air conditioning system checked before the summer rush. Here's something you may not know; many new cars & trucks have what's called a "Cabin Filter". Get your replaced every year or 12,000 miles so you can breath easier. I just had my 2002 Chevy Silverado 3500 Dually (6.6 DuraMax) Turbo Diesel's Cabin Filters changed. I waited too long. 2 years & 27,000 miles, and boy were they loaded with road grime, pollen and debris. Now I breath easier! Did I mention new wiper blades ??
